A Weekly Song Circles for Mamas, Littles, & Allies
The Singing Mamas® model is evidence-based, with research showing that group singing can significantly reduce symptoms of postnatal depression and increase feelings of wellbeing and connection.
A 2020 research study led by Dr. Daisy Fancourt and colleagues at University College London found that mothers experiencing postnatal depression saw a significant reduction in symptoms after attending 10 weeks of singing groups, compared to other forms of support.
Benefits observed include lowered stress levels, increased social connection, improved mood, and even improved bonding with babies.
Singing in groups also supports regulation of breathing and nervous system responses, boosting feelings of calm and wellbeing.
The Cinci Sing's April Mann is a fully-trained International Community Leader for Singing Mamas®.
Who it’s for: Mothers, new parents, aunties, grannies, allies, and caregivers of all kinds who are female or gender non-conforming. Babies and young children are welcome too.
What it is: Simple, beautiful songs taught by ear—no sheet music, no “performance”—just singing for well-being.
No pressure, no solos, no worries. We sing just to sing, so no worries if "you can't sing" - come join in the fun of gathering.
What happens: We gather, warm up, learn songs and harmonies, and enjoy the goodness of singing together.
Male-identifying friends are welcome to join our other singing gatherings.
